Poorly babies...

I wasn't so sure if it would be a good idea to go swimming today, Oliver has a cough and isn't feeling too well. But they both voted in favour of going, so we did go swimming. We only spent half an hour swimming and then sat in the cafe for a while with some chips and Jaffa cakes and our drinks.

Sadly someone had a stroke whilst in the pool and the emergency alarms rang out and the emergency drill kicked in with alarms and shutters coming down and everyone evacuated out of the pool, I was so glad we had already finished swimming when that happened, the twins would have lost all confidence if we where still in there as neither of them are very confident in the water.

We started our walk into town to the charity shop in the bustling rain but did not get very far when Oliver exclaimed that he couldn't breathe because of the wind, so we turned back to the car and decided that home would be the best place to be right now.

Once we did get home Oliver  wanted to sleep, so we snuggled up and fell asleep all afternoon.

On awaking we have another wounded soldier and Olivia is now coughing too and looking grim, so I think the best plan of action for the rest of the week is a relaxing chill time with a few books, documentaries and drawings.

We had been in the midsts of arranging a meet up with another home ed family but I think maybe that might have to wait until next week instead.....

Falling in love and... beds....

One thing I remember after I had the twins, besides the shock that it was two and not one baby that would be crashing into my life for me to cope with, was that intense feeling of falling in love.

That feeling I will never forget of such deep love that I have for the twins, I could not take my eyes of either of them, to be fair this was partly due to the shock factor of actually having twins that I am still getting to grips with today, but my god that feeling of falling in love was the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced. For the first few months I used to just stop and watch them, sit and just stare at every feature.

I look at them now and every so often I get this warm feeling of  'look at that, they are so perfect in every way' and I get a warm glow, I look at them and just think I am so in love with these little people, just to stop and watch them with their smiling faces and listen to their soft voices.

I love to stop and just watch...

I decorated their room last year and this included new beds, their cute little cottage bed and Thomas bed went and new high sleepers where brought in, my expectations of them having lots of fun with the beds using them as climbing frames where true to form and they love the beds but.... we are all now having issues with the beds, Oliver never sleeps in his, he says it is too high and he tends to sleep underneath Olivia's bed with the dogs, Olivia has no complaints she is so easy going, everything is great to her, but I have complains too, they are too high for me to sit and watch them during the night.

Yes it sounds creepy but I used to love sitting on the floor between the beds and just watching them while they slept for a while, we also have to do bedtime stories on my bed too which isn't the same as reading until they fall asleep in their own beds..

I miss just sitting and watching them and living my falling in love time, Oliver hates to be high so we are on a mission now, the beds have to go....

Looking Inside Mummies

We had a jaunt with another home ed family to see the much talked about exhibition of animal mummies at the museum, the chance to look inside and see inside a mummy was a great opportunity..

Oliver was lucky enough to get a phone call from Stan the Dino whilst we where there too, which was an added bonus.

And they have a new addition since our last visit which is an amazing Tigon, we where all quite excited to see this, a hybrid Lion and Tiger, she was beautiful and has only recently gone on display.

We did our usual whilst we where there and grabbed some food in the restaurant which has also recently changed, not sure I am a fan and of the changed cafe and we may nip to Greggs nearby next time instead of eating there like we usually do, as it is on the way to the park down the road which we have run around after the museum.

A nice trip out  and a nice natter was had, we even bumped in to quite a few other home ed families whilst we where there which was nice.
